The Fifth Ecumenical Council (the Second Council of Constantinople) was a Christian Ecumenical Council that was held at Constantinople (5 May-2 June, 553), having been called by Emperor Justinian. It was attended mostly by Eastern bishops; only six Western (Carthaginian) bishops were present. The president was Eutychius, Patriarch of Constantinople.
