The Nobel Prize in Physics (Swedish: Nobelpriset i fysik) is awarded once a year by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. It is one of the six Nobel Prizes. The first prize was awarded in 1901. The prize is administered by the Nobel Foundation, and is widely regarded as the most prestigious award one can receive in the field of physics research.
